Milton Abbas Street Fair 2023
Dear Potential Stallholder,
The villagers of Milton Abbas invite you to book a stall at their biennial 18th Century Street Fair to be held on Saturday 29th July 2023, between 11am and 5pm.
We have not held a Fair since 2019 due to COVID restrictions, and this year the Fair is really significant, as we celebrate 50 years since the villagers first recreated the country fair, in order to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the building of the present-day village.
The standard space available is a pitch with 15 feet frontage and 12 feet depth on the “green” outside each cottage or infill green spaces between cottages. Stallholders are expected to contribute to the atmosphere of the event by dressing in suitable costume and by trying to give their stalls an authentic rural character.
Once again, we shall be holding our “best in show” awards so please make an effort.
As usual, we expect to have more people requiring stalls than space available so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. All bookings should be returned with the full payment or BACS confirmation.
To prevent too much duplication of stalls, please state the nature of all goods being sold and/or demonstrated. We actively encourage traders selling locally produced food, drink, craft and other items and the Organising Committee retain the right to refuse stallholders whose goods are not felt to be appropriate for our historic fair e.g., no fairground novelties!
If you require a particular site, please state this on the booking form and, if available, it will be allocated to you.
Our Fees for 2023 for a standard pitch (15’X 12’) are:
Catering Standard rate £200
Non-catering Standard rate £75
Registered Charities Standard rate £50
Please indicate on the form if you require a non-standard site e.g., multiples and you will be contacted accordingly. Electricity only available, if essential, at an extra charge.
The organisers do not accept liability in the case of cancellation for reasons beyond their control and stallholders should insure themselves against this likelihood. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions attached to this email and on our website www.miltonabbasstreetfair.co.uk
Stallholders must provide their own tables and chairs and clear their site of litter after the event.
Please bring your own litter container. No vehicles can be left in the Street during the Fair and must be removed to the nominated car park by 9:00am latest where you can park free of charge. After this time the Street will be closed to traffic and vehicular access will not be possible until the event closes.
All Proceeds from the Street Fair go to County and local charities & village organisations.
